Workgroup 1 occupies itself with preservation and digitization, as well as the development of the project’s digital infrastructure. It consists of the three archival parties and is headed by the Filmmuseum. Its activities have been subdivided in two sub workgroups.
Sub workgroup Preservation and Digitization of Content
The sub workgroup ‘Preservation and Digitization of Content’ has set itself the task of coordinating and executing the preservation, digitization, encoding, and meta-dating of film, video, and audio. As the various partners specialise in different areas of expertise, each has been given specific responsibilities within the consortium. The roles have been subdivided as follows:
- Sound and Vision: preservation of video/audio and digitization/encoding of film/video/audio.
- Filmmuseum: preservation of film.
- National Archive: preservation and digitization of photographic material.
Sub workgroup Digital Infrastructure.
The sub workgroup ‘Digital Infrastructure’ delivers - as its end product - a distributional infrastructure that provides the best possible access to the disclosed content. Its foundation is the current Sound and Vision infrastructure. Click here for more information about the infrastructure.
