Images for the Future is the largest digitizing project the Netherlands have ever seen. During its seven-year run, much experience will be gathered with digitization and disclosure of the most important Dutch audiovisual collections. Innovative services will provide educational institutions, the creative industry, and the general audience with access to an enormous supply of digital audiovisual content. In doing so, Images for the Future will contribute to a stronger knowledge economy.
It is important to share and further contextualize all the gathered knowledge. The Trend Monitor Images for the Future will therefore annually map out which domestic and international trends surrounding digitization and disclosure of audiovisual heritage can be pointed out. In addition, the Trend Monitor will include the results of the Images for the Future project. In doing so, Images for the Future will hopefully not only provide co-operators with insights into the project’s progress, but also inspire everyone occupied with the digitization of heritage.
