Official Kick-off Images for the Future
August 26th 2007
On July 1st 2007, the largest digitization and preservation project the Netherlands has ever seen was officially kicked off. In signing the fund disposal, minister Plasterk (Education, Culture and Science) has given the go-ahead for a one-off catch-up, in which the core collection of the Dutch audiovisual heritage will be preserved for the future and disclosed to a larger audience.
In the coming six months, the focus lies on developing a pilot for educational purposes, setting up an infrastructure for large-scale digitization, and creating pilots aimed at involving and activating users.
